Tantalum Metal

Tantalum, a metallic element, mainly exists in tantalite and co-exists with niobium. Tantalum has moderate hardness and is rich in ductility, and can be drawn into thin filaments to make thin foils. Its thermal expansion coefficient is very small. Tantalum has very good chemical properties and extremely high corrosion resistance. It does not react to hydrochloric acid, concentrated nitric acid and "aqua regia" in both cold and hot conditions.
